November 14, 2002 ----- Web Export for Excel Article Published in FPA
An article by Cornerstone's Research and Development specialist, Paul Jordan, has recently been published in the November 2002 edition of Fox Pro Advisor magazine. This article describes several ways to "stream" data directly from intranet applications into the client's Excel application. With this technology, developers can provide dynamic exports of web-collected data directly into Excel.
September 05, 2002 ----- Director to Speak in Vancouver BC
Lauren Clarke (Web Connect MVP) will deliver a "dry run" of one of his talks prepared for the upcoming Web Connection User Conference in Milwaukee. The talk focuses on performance-boosting web applications, but many of the tools and techniques are applicable to VFP application development in general. We will review the major areas of processing expense for a typical web application and address ways of attacking each area. This talk is geared toward giving you the tools you need to attack the areas most likely to yield the greatest performance gains with the least amount of programming time and minimal loss of extensibility.

Cornerstone Director, Lauren Clarke, will speak to the Seattle Visual Foxpro User's group and members of the MS VFP Team on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond on November 19th, 2001. Lauren will present an overview of the Web Connection toolkit from West-Wind Technologies Inc. We will develop a web-based application from the ground up, including both thick and thin-client interfaces. This will be an excellent introduction to those considering developing applications for the web with VFP.

Lauren Clarke, Director of Cornerstone Systems Northwest will address the National Cancer Institute's cancer modeling consortium (CISNET) at the mid-year meeing for Breast Cancer modlers in Chicago, June 6th, 2001 on the topic of using the CISNET FlexKB Model Profiler web-application to develop and compare simulation model documentation.
